Unlike the majority of the weight lifting community, I wear gloves. I know-I know, gloves are “bitch mittens”. Very crude, of course. Leave a bunch of muscle heads pumping iron and watch the testosterone fly. Insert epic eye roll here. Whomp! Whomp!

Not that I need to explain myself, but I prefer wearing gloves for a zillion reasons.

• My hands horribly sweat, and I refuse to use chalk. That stuff is toxic and horribly dries your hand.
• I don’t care what anyone says, I. Do. Not. Want. Calluses. Sorry, I like soft hands.
• I get a better grip. Seriously, I do. I push harder and can lift more.

After asking for suggestions on new gloves, since I have destroyed every pair I’ve bought, my friend Marissa introduced me to Sparkle & Sweat. It was exactly what I have been looking for; affordable gloves, that are feminine.

These babies are made of lycra fabric on top, which allows tons of flexibility. And the bottom part is synthetic leather (vegan). The padding really does protect your hands, allowing me to add on more weight and not worry about my hands. I know some of you don’t care about your hands conditions, but I do. So I go out of my way to protect them.
