Happy Birthday To Me!

Today I turn the big 4-0h! Yup I’m 40. And I couldn’t be happier with my life.

I know I’ve been missing from these parts and that’s simply because I have been super busy. I’ve been all over the place attending events, and also traveling. There’s so much I want to share with you. I just haven’t had the time to actually sit down and blog. Bare with me, it’s all happening!

If you want to see what I am up to, I have been trying to keep active on my instastories. You could check those out if you like.

A while back, I wrote a late night ramble. I figured it’d be fun to start my geriatric life with a rant. I’ll even yell at you to get off my lawn.

Hope you enjoy my crazy!

There are words and phrases I truly dislike. On the top of my list is the word “followers”.

Hello New Followers

Why does the word followers bother me? Because it implies that the person using it is above everyone else. Sure they technically follow your social medias. But why call people that? It’s not like they are your yellow minions holding on to your every word for a banana. Why not find a better word to describe your online community? It irks me when anyone starts with “Hi my followers”. You sound full of yourself. Knock it off, it’s annoying.

I want to Inspire People

My eye twitches every time I read the quote, “I want to inspire people. I want someone to look at me and say because of you I didn’t give up.” Let’s be honest here, that’s some egotistical bull crap. Although, you may set an example, people should be their own source of inspiration. Whatever they are trying to accomplish is for themselves, not for you. It’s absolutely selfish on anyone’s part to try to take credit over someone else’s success. You did nothing for it, nor do you deserve the glory. How about just actually helping people? Show them they can do whatever it is they want to accomplish. Be a support system instead.

(things are about to get crazy up in here)

Sadly, we live in an entitled world. News flash, if you haven’t worked for it, you don’t deserve it. Being born is not a fast-pass for everything being handed to you. It means, welcome to earth, here’s your chance to make a difference. What are you going to do with it?

Being humble still matters more than the labels of your clothes. Get up and offer your seat to the elderly or a pregnant woman. Hold a door open. Smile at a stranger. Tell someone good morning. Say thank you and you are welcome. It’s not beneath you to show some damn manners.

Men, yes I am talking to you, just because you are on a dating app does not give you the right to be a disgusting jerk. Hiding behind a cell phone only gives you asshole powers. Asking for nudes, and talking to a woman like you don’t have a mother, it’s not acceptable. You know what it actually gets you? Your conversation screenshot, and shared with every single one of our friends. Where we proceed to make mockery of your stupidity #sorrynotsorry. This is my official petition to bring chivalry back! Until then, I rather be single. Where. Are. The. Actual. Men?

Ladies, yeah I am coming for you too. Stop. Making. It. So. Damn. Easy. Give yourself your place. Demand your respect. I am not saying be a bitch. BUT you dictate the way people treat you. And that has a lot to do with the way you present yourself. If you are forever half naked on social media, no matter how many boss girl quotes you share, that’s not how you are going to be treated. It’s simple as that. I try to live my life as an example to my niece. I want her to see a strong woman because I want her to be a woman of worth and demand her own respect. If anything, act like your mom is always watching. Deep down you know she is because she has eyes on the back of her head.

I’m not saying to always be serious. Hell, I am a big-ass-nerd-weirdo-sarcastic-clown. Nor am I saying I am perfect, far from it. I made plenty of mistakes. And my 20’s were completely cringe worthy. So I speak with experience. We all do stupid things. Still, we could evolve and become better than we were and be treated with respect. Demand it!

You may or may not agree with my rambles. And that’s fine. Agree to disagree. But right now, this world just makes me sad. And I am truly missing the days where people were not so sensitive over every little freaking thing.

When was the last time you had an actual conversation in person without reaching for your phone?… well I mean besides from selfies with your biffle because those are always needed.

Ok I’ll shut up now. If there’s anything I want to get out of my crazy rant, is to make you think.

And to buy me gifts because it’s my birthday!

Just kidding! I don’t need anything, but I would love for everyone reading this to please donate to the LAFDFund. Let’s directly support those helping with the Woolsey Fire.

Thanks so much for reading my rant.
