I have oily skin. Most people fail by trying to take moisture and hydration out of their complexion. Which is when oily skin gets pissed at you and breaks out. Regardless of skin, it needs to be hydrated.

After washing my face, I follow up by using the best moisturizer I have ever used. Although I don’t have acne, the Clear Start line by Dermalogica is catered for acne prone skin. Still this just works. It helps prep my face perfectly. It tones down the shine by 50%. Which is huge in my book. I highly recommend this to anyone with oily skin.

MAKE UP FOR EVER STEP 1 MATTIFYING PRIMER
This right here changed my makeup all around. The first time I used it, I was stunned because my makeup looked exactly how I’ve always wanted it to. It was just makeup and highlight. There wasn’t any oily shine coming through, and it didn’t dull out my skin. This product is seriously a must have in ALL pro’s kit for clients that have oily skin. It’s ground breaking! You don’t need to look for a dupe this is it. This is all you need. It’s expensive but I am NOT looking back.

PUR BALANCING ACT SHINE CONTROL POWDER
During the day, there are times the shine gets out of control. It just happens. And this powder from Pur has proven to be the best thing I’ve tried for touch ups. Before using this, I of course blot and then I tap it into my skin. So worth it!

GARNIER SKINACTIVE MICELLAR CLEANSING WATER ALL-IN-1 MATTIFYING
After a long day, and before doing my night time skin care routine, I need to wipe the day away. I work all day, I’m in an out of the subway, and go to the gym. My face is a mess. This is my favorite micellar water. All others leave my face a bit oily. This one cleans without any leaving residue.

Again, and I can’t say this enough. Even if you have oily skin, you need to make sure it’s hydrated. As much as we want to control the oil, not everything should be mattifying. And we should let our skin breath and it should still be nurtured.
