One of my favorite desserts is Brownie a la Mode. If you’ve never heard of such a thing, it’s a warm brownie with ice cream on top. Bet you mentally salivated. Yes, it’s delectable.
For this Valentine’s Day, I wanted to enjoy a treat that wasn’t going make me cry after. So I set myself to put together a guilt free version of the decadent treat.
And this is what I came up with. The good thing is that, all these items could be easily found at any food store, and together they cost less than $7.00 USD.
Bottom Base | Lenny & Larry’s Triple Chocolate Muscle Brownie
The entire brownie is 250 calories. It has only 9g of sugar, and no sugar alcohols. It also has 20g of protein, and contains 20% Daily Fiber (5g).
Downfall on these is that they are a bit chewie. Also, if you are a vegan or a have nut allergies, stay away from these.
I warmed it in the microwave for about a minute.
In The Middle | Justin’s Vanilla Almond Butter
I’m a tiny bit obsessed with peanut and almond butter. And by a tiny bit, I mean I always keep a jar at my desk. Besides Trader Joe’s, Justin’s is my favorite brand.
I just picked up a small vanilla pack by the register, but you could also find jars in the peanut butter aisle. I only used half the pack over the warm brownie.
On Top | Halo Top Cookies & Cream
This entire pint of ice cream has 320 calories, and 14g of sugar. I only topped it with a scoop. So it’s virtually guilt free and delicious.
And this is it. That’s all I put on it. It was awesome and totally satiated my sweet tooth.
Not that you should feel guilty for enjoying a treat when you always watch what you eat. But I really did feel guilt-free while I ate this treat.
What’s your favorite dessert?
XOXOXO!
