Happy Wednesday y’all!
We’re starting something fun on our Instagram. Every Wedding Wednesday, we’ll be sharing some of our favorite romantic movie quotes, and today we started with The Princess Bride.
On to today’s Wedding Wednesday the blog was inspired by a friend who is serious donut monster. Donuts are her bae and spirit animal. Thanks Phoenix!
Let’s break it down, there’s to way around it, Weddings are EXPENSIVE. As much as we love wedding cakes, they could cost hundreds or thousands of dollars. In effort to save some cash, couples are choosing to do donut cakes or a donut bar.
Not only is this inexpensive, you you can easily do it yourself. I worked in the bakery industry for three years and I learned a lot during that time. Trust me it’s easy as 1-2-3. All you need is the right products and you’ll be on your way.
You’ve seen those super cute glitter donuts right? The ones that make our inner child twirl excitedly. Well they are beyond simple to make.
Go to your local supermarket or whole sale club, and get a box of glazed donuts. You can also get old fashioned donuts and make the glaze yourself. Especially if you want to color the glaze.
If you want to make the glaze yourself here’s what you’ll need: Melted butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk. Stir until it combines, and press donuts into it.Yes it’s that simple.
You’ll also need edible glitter. Edible glitter can be found practically anywhere now. If you’re making a ton for your wedding, I would suggest finding a wholesaler. But other wise, you can find it even at Walmart.
If you’re ambitious and want to try to make your own edible glitter check out this recipe from SheKnows.
Sure you could use Disco Dust which is SO dang pretty, BUT it’s not meant for consumption, just decoration. That being said, Disco Dust is non-toxic. Unless you’re eating it by the pound with a spoon, then it shouldn’t harm anyone.
All you do is open the pack of donuts and press them down onto the glitter and done. Really it doesn’t take much effort.
I mean it’s glitter and donuts, how could you possibly go wrong?
