Beauty Review: Gerard Hydra Matte Liquid Lipstick

You guyz! I have finally found my perfect nude lipstick. And it comes straight from Gerard Cosmetics. This Hydra Liquid Matte Lipstick in Serenity, was a joint venture between between Gerard Cosmetics and makeup blogger Manny Gutierrez. They came up with, what I consider to be, the best nude lipstick ever invented.

Application is easy and simple. You do not need to use a lip brush to apply. It looks great just using the applicator that’s attached to the cap. Since this formula is liquid, it goes on wet, but then it quickly dries to a deep matte. Usually that kind of consistency dries out my lips, surprisingly this doesn’t, nor do my lips feel tight. Below I’m wearing it day time and night time.

Normally I have to constantly re-apply whatever I put on my lips. I am not one of those people whose lips are always on. But this stays on even after I eat. Below is after I ate breakfast.

Please note, for accuracy, none of my pictures have been retouched in any way.

The one thing, I don’t recommend, is retouching your lips more than once. It becomes a thick mess. I made that mistake once, never again. You actually don’t need to retouch more than once. And in my case, the only thing I need to reapply was the center of my lips.

I paid $18 USD at Ricky’s NYC at their #InstaGlam store. If I’m not mistaken, most of the Ricky’s stores now carry Gerard. If you can’t stop in, and still want to try this shade, you could buy it online over at Gerard’s Cosmetics website. Use mannymua discount code for 35% off.
