Beauty Review: NYX Prismatic Shadow

Its Saturday! Hopefully you’re doing something fun today. We were suppose to go to a Taco Festival in Northern Jersey but its suppose to thunderstorm. Whomp-whomp!

Today we bring you our review for one of NYX Cosmetics Prismatic Eyeshadow in Mermaid. Of course, I would buy an eyeshadow named mermaid. I’m a mermaid, duh.

n I first looked at the color, I cringed a little; it’s a pretty bright. Great color, but still bright. But then I applied it over my lid with my brush, and I was surprised to find it was pretty sheer.
wpid-wp-1442080442374.jpgSo sorry I don’t have actual pictures of when I applied it on my eyes. It was way too early to look normal at that time.

I actually ended up dabbing a bit of the shadow with my finger to bring out the color. wpid-nyx-mermaid-shadow-4.jpg.jpg

I applied it at around 5:40 am, before work, and when I got home at around 8:30 pm (after the gym), I still had it on. Update: Earlier I neglected to mention that I did used NYX Shadow Base in White, before applying the shadow. I never apply shadow without using a primer first.

I bought it at Ulta on sale for about $4 USD, regular price $6 USD.

  1. Do you think the pigmentation of the product would last longer with a primer? I really liked how you gave the pricing, how long you wore it for, and provided links for the others shades!

Yes, neglected to mentioned I did use NYX White primer before applying it over my lid. I’m one of the school, that shadow doesn’t go on my lid without putting primer on. It just helps keep it in place. And its my pleasure to share the information I know with y’all 😉
