I am product of super thin 90’s brows. UGH! I regret owning tweezers every single day. Sure I try to regrow them but no such luck. The crazy thing is, I am actually hairy AF. But my brows? Nope, denied.
So I am always looking for new brow products. That is when Maybelline released their TattooStudio Waterproof Gel, I rushed out to buy it. It took me a while to find it, since it was always sold out everywhere. Ended up finding it at Harmon Face Value.
Their website claims:
Fill and color your eyebrows with this ultra-resistant and waterproof eyebrow gel. The sculpting tip and eyebrow spoolie brush work together to create fuller-looking eyebrows that last for days. Smudge proof. Does not transfer. 98% saw fuller and thicker eyebrows, 93% saw gel does not transfer, and 88% would recommend to a friend. Packaging may vary, what you receive may not be what is reflected on site.
Here are the directions:
- Use sculpting tip to fill mid-brow and tail, moving outwards.
- Lightly fill in inner brow.
- Blend using grooming spoolie.
- Allow time to dry.
I followed the directions to a T. I did use the applicator to apply. Then ran the spoolie over my brows so they could appear more natural. Initial though? The product was a bit sticky, and heavy on the skin while it dried. A plus thought, it doesn’t instantly dry so you have time to fix mistakes.
Also, used a thin brow brush to define, and sculpt. And another, with a minuscule amount of foundation, to clean around the edges.
They looked nice. I didn’t feel that wow factor like when I use my Anastasia Brow Wiz, but nice enough.
I do have to mention, it took a long time to dry. Maybe I put on too much product? And it never really truly set. A few hours later I lightly ran my finger over my brows to see if anything would come off, and I rubbed off a few chunks. Is it because I have oily skin? Not sure. Check out selfie I took with my phone below.
Did the brows stay put after I wiped my makeup off? I used a makeup wipe and in one swipe, everything came right off. All of it.
Obviously it did not last two days as advertised. It didn’t even last a few hours. So this product gets a thumbs down from me. It didn’t do any of the things it was supposed to. And to be honest, it was a hassle to apply. Personally, I’ll stick to brow pencils.
Now, I always tell everyone, just because it didn’t work for me, it doesn’t mean it won’t work for you. So if you pick it up and give it a try, let me know how it went for you.
Maybelline TattooStudio Waterproof Gel is available were ever Maybelline is sold. And it runs for about $10.00 USD.
Are you going to try it? Have you tried it? Sound off.
Thanks for the honest review I know Sephora has a few good brow kits might be a better choice

I try to be true and honest. I would feel responsible for having someone spend their hard earned money on a product that does not work.
