Roaming through the aisles of Michaels is like heaven for a crafter. Some times I go just to see what’s new. And in one of those trips I saw some super cute decals from Recollections.
They are vinyls decals for mugs, water bottles, thermos, glasses, or whatever you’ll like. I figured I’d pick one up and test it out to see how they work and if they actually hold on.
Along with a plain white mug I picked up at the dollar store, I gave it ago.
Applying was pretty simple even if the instructions were a little “catty”.
HAHAHA! I’m such a dork. Honestly it was so easy I could have applied this with my eyes close. But in the spirit of sharing, here are the step:
- Removed the decal from the plastic cover.
2. Placed it on mug, and rub in the letters for a good 30 seconds. Then let it sit for a minute.
3. Slowly peeled off the plastic.
4. Admired how good my dollar mug now looks. And how true the statement is. Without coffee I die. Not an exaggeration… At all.
And of course I had to put it through all the tests. I harshly washed it by hand. Then ran it through the dishwasher. I also put it in the microwave to heat up my coffee and so far so good. It’s only been a week but it’s held on and it hasn’t chipped or lifted.
They do have tons of other styles AND are currently on sale at Michaels online. Just search “decals” on the to see tons of styles.
Going back tonight to pick up a few more styles.
If you could quote your mug, what would it read?
Oh, thanks for the heads up! I definitely will be cruising to Michael’s. I don’t like my handwriting enough to brave freehanding on a mug. I seriously have 4 mugs in my cabinet waiting for me to slap a design on them. I just hadn’t gotten around to it. I think these would be cool to keep on my desk, at work.
Yes girl I recommend it! And the decals are on sale right now for about a dollar and some change
