The final frontier. The end of dating. The number one cause of divorce.
I bet you every man who is about to take the plunge experiences a wide range of feelings. As a guy, whose wedding day is only seven days away, I know this.
Anxiety—Nerves are kicking in. Yeah, even confident, cocky guys like me are bound to face nuptial stage fright.
Let’s face it, forever is kind of a long time, right?
Excitement—Coriander and I are going to make it official. I’m marrying my best friend, the one I laugh with, live for, dream with.
Nothing can top this moment.
That is until I got the biggest surprise of my life…
When I received this ARC, I was in the middle of Bridal Market. I was reading about a wedding, while running all around New York City looking at gorgeous bridal gowns. It was perfect timing.
We first meet Coriander and Dean in The Boy Friend. While in The Boy Friend, they are biffles that fall in love. Explicitly Yours is what happens after they achieve their happily ever after. So yes, please read them in order. Read my review on The Boy Friend here.
Going from being the biggest man-whore to saying I do has to have its moments of doubts and mental chaos. I mean it’s marriage. Same person. Every day. For ever. That’s a lot to take in even for a non-hussy.
This novella takes you through their wedding planning and the events that lead to the big day. There’s this part where Cordi is trying to explain the sand ceremony to Dean and I couldn’t stop laughing. He just represented exactly how most men feel during wedding planning, confused and eventually giving in to make his woman happy.
One of the many things I love about this short is that we finally get to be in Cori’s mind. The Boy Friend was written from Dean’s POV. In this one, we finally get to see what she is thinking and feeling. YAY!
Another moment that had me jumping for joy is that the wedding was set in Martha’s Vineyard. In Jason’s inn. I died because Jason is my forever book husband!!! And this was the perfect way to tie in Mika’s Martha’s Way series.
There were a lot of moments that touched my heart. Dean’s letter for example. Also, some other stuff I can not discuss and ruin for you. But what really opened the water works were those moments while Dean was waiting for Cori to walk down the aisle. It’s the kind of women most women dream of.
If you loved The Boy Friend, you HAVE to read Explicitly Yours. There’s so much I can’t say but you have to read.
For fun, I decided to share with you what I imagined Cori and Dean’s wedding to look like.

Could just picture it all? I am currently dreaming of Martha Vineyard weddings.
