And I am back from GenBeauty NYC 2017!
As I lay here on the floor trying to make my back feel better, I can’t help but think how amazing the weekend was. I was able to spend it with my sister and some of my favorite beauties. Can’t wait to do it all over again!
This time around IpyOS Creator Day was held at New World Stages. Which was completely different from last year. All the sessions, and labs were held in stages. Which was amazing and fun. Watch Creator Day 2016.
Our day kicked off with a Cover FX Beauty Lab. Where we met the founder Victor Casale. Did you know he is was also the founding partner of MAC? Not a big a deal at all. We were also given the chance to mix our own matching foundation. It was the highlight of my day!
We were given 4 basic colors: white, red, yellow, and black. And you had to mix it until you matched your complexion. I was shocked! I had to mix ALL four colors to get to skin color. But I think I did pretty good, and didn’t give up. I LOVED this hands on lab. I hope next year, we get more like this!
The rest of the day we spent it sitting in panels hosted by different brands in the main stage.
There were even some brands presents: NYX, Too Faced, Lime Crime, Kendra Scott, Skyn Iceland, and Besfren.
Although 2017 was way bigger, I do have to say, I missed the intimacy of 2016’s Creator Day. It was really personal then. However, I LOVED the hands on Beauty Lab with Cover FX. That was pure genius and amazing! The fact that the CEO wanted us to experience what he feels when he is creating a foundation, fills me with emotions I can’t describe.
For 2018, I hope they add more hands on learning experiences and less panels. I can’t tell you how incredible it was to stand at a table with my beauties and watch their faces filled with excitement as they too tried to mix in their foundation shade. Really Ipsy, more of this. My science fair nerd girl was so happy!
The panels were good. Personal favorites were The Key Note speaker, Desiree Gruber. And meditation session. I had NO idea how much I needed that in my life. Still, to me Creator Day is about learning. Give us hand things to do and learn.
I can not wait for 2018 and see what IpsyOS has in store for us!
