Tipsy Scoops

If there’s something I love doing is checking out restaurants around New York City that go viral. And Tipsy Scoop has been one of the most recent to blow up in the social media scene.

Why you ask? Because it’s liquor-infused ice cream. SAY WHAT?! You read me right. It’s boozy ice cream, and I HAD to check it out.

Tipsy Scoop blends the magic of an artisanal, hand-crafted ice cream with the mastery of a perfectly mixed cocktail.

The history of Tipsy Scoop started back in 1800’s Scotland. When Melissa Tavss’, founder, great, great, great grandfather used to make ice cream and sell it out of a street cart. Fast forward to today and Tipsy Scoop has been featured by The New York Times, Huffington Post, Delish, and BuzzFeed to name a few.

Visiting their Ice Cream Barlour was a treat. I picked to go on one of the hottest day we’ve had all year, it was a hot and humid 93 degree day. And obviously there was a line outside and inside.

I truly expected to wait for 47 years to be served. But the line moved pretty fast, and waited a total of 15 minutes to get my ice cream.

You have a ton to choose from! But feast your eyes on Vanilla Bean Bourbon, and Chocolate Stout + Pretzel over a churro bowl. It. Was. Delicious. You could really taste the alcohol in every bite. Disclaimer, I thought I was going to get sick of the flavor after a few bites but that wasn’t the case. I love it all. It was a great balance of ice cream and boozy stuff.

Want to try more than one flavor? Great! They do have a “Boozy Flight” where you could choose four different flavors to test out. Thank you to the patron that let me take a picture of her super color and pretty color tray.

Was it worth it? Of course it was. However, you could only enjoy this icy treat if you’re 21 and over. Yes, I was carded before paying.

Not in NYC? Not to worry, they ship anywhere in the US. And they also have local delivery. You could choose between pints, cakes, and even ice cream sandwiches.

ORDER NOW

Did you know they cater events? They do! You could even customize the label for such events! I can’t wait to have them at my non-existent wedding.

Want to try something different and fun? Give Tipsy Scoop a chance. And make sure you get get churro bowl. You’ll thank me later.

Don’t forget to visit the Tipsy Scoop Barlour located at 217 East 26th Street, New York, NY or order online.

XOXOXO!
Dee
