Highlighter is a product that can completely change your look. It gives you an amazing glow, making you look amazing.
By using highlighter, the high points of your face – cheekbones, the temples, the brow bones, the bridge of the nose, the apples of your cheeks and the jaw bone – will be emphasized.
When you’re choosing a highlighter you have to think about your goal. Is to get a reflective dewy look that makes you look like you just moisturized your skin? Whatever your reasoning, the point of highlight is not to be shiny or glittery. Its to simply give your skin a healthy glow.
Here’s a tip when picking out highlighters, try out different shades on the back of your hand, and blend well. If the product gives your skin a slight sheen, you’ve got it right. If you look covered in glitter, try again.
Here are my recommendation :
- For fair skin: pink or icy silver highlighter.
- For medium/olive skin: peachy golden glow.
- For dark skin: rose gold, champagne, bronze.
There’s all different types of highlighters substance: cream, liquid, powder, and pencil. I have tried almost every type, and they all work well. But in my case I prefer powder.
Below, I am wearing Sigma’s highlighting blush in Peaceful. I was given a sample and I feel in love! I am waiting on the store by my house to restock it. I can’t hardly wait! This shade is perfect for me because I have a medium yellow/olive skin. I applied it, in the inner corners of my eyes, brow bone, and cheek bones.

This is a really helpful post – I haven’t seen the illuminators broken down by skin tone before. Good call, I’ll have to try that!
Yeah definitely try it! It just gives you that extra special touch. I personally do it for special occasions since I don’t want to look the same all the time.
I love this post! I am a big highlighter fan & that Sigma highlighting blush looks gorgeous 🙂 xo
Thank you so much, and we tok love Sigma! Isn’t this highlighter beautiful? When I saw it on Glory I ran to the store to get it, her and I have very similar complexion, but they didn’t have it in stock. We may have to order online lol
