PUR’s My Little Pony Palette

Are you ready for a palette to make your inner five year old squeal with excitement? PUR’s My Little Pony: The Movie Collection Eyeshadow Palette.

My Little Pony Palette 1

The moment this palette was announced I knew that I HAD to get it. My Little Pony was one of my favorite toys and cartoons as a little girl. It hit my nostalgia button, big time! And yes I did buy it with my own money.

When I opened it and was in awe with all the bright colors. It’s just so pretty to look at!

But then I swatched it. And swatched it. And swatched it again. And the colors were not showing up on my arm. So I do apologize for not having swatches. Some colors just did not show up. And the camera did not pick them up.

Not only were the colors were not showing up on my arm, they were very chalky. Not powdery like a high pigmented shadow. Just chalky.

Knowing all of this when it came time to create my look, I used a white primer for my eyes (NYX Eyeshadow Base) to help the color pop. But I actually didn’t think it was going to help. But it did! So I advised a using a white base or primer before using these shadows.

When it came to blending, it took a while to get it this way. I am used super pigmented and easily bendable shadows. In this case, it took at least half hour to get it like this and even so, I feel I could have done a better job blending.

Regarding my look, I wanted to use colors that spoke to me. And greens and blues always speak to me. As well as, was inspired by my girly Theresa.  I wasn’t sure if the yellow would show up since my skin’s undertone is super yellow. But with the white primer it showed up in pictures but now with the naked eye.

Final thoughts, I really loved the idea behind the palette, and the colors. It’s so damn cute. BUT I am not a fan of the chalky formula. It just wasn’t easy to blend.

This is a good palette if you’re starting out, and want to play with color. Or a super cute gift for the little divas in your life.

It sucks that the pigment is not as amazing as this palette but I know my friend will like the fact that it’s vegan-friendly
