Beauty Review: Julie G Nail Polish by Jesse’s Girl

At Ipsy’s GenBeauty we received a ton of swag. And I decided to review a few of the brands I’ve never tried before.

At the Jesse’s Girl booth, we received a couple of their Julie G line polishes. I also did get a manicure and I fell in love with their Jet Set Quic-Dry Top Coat. It really does dry at lighting speed.

One of the polishes in my swag bag, was one from the Julie G’s Candy Shoppe Color line in Licorice Twist. It’s what they call a ‘jelly bean finish’ which is kind-of sort-of matte.

Instantly, I loved the color. It’s the perfect shade to start off the fall and winter months. My first reaction while applying it? It was very sheer. I had to apply about four coats to bring out the true color. When it was set and dry, I wasn’t a huge fan of the ‘jelly bean’ finish. It looked uneven.

I was going to take it off, but instead, I applied a clear gel top coat and placed my hands in my UV light machine, and it looked tons better. See the side by side comparison. Which finish do you like best?

Because I used my UV gel and lamp, it lasted a long time.
