Happy Bookie Thursday ya’ll!
I Will Never Own Enough Books, tagged us in the Summertime Madness Book Tag. We thought it’s be fun, so here we go!
SILVIA
- Show a book with a summery cover: The Scale by Mika Jolie
- Pick one fictional place that would be the perfect destination for a Summer vacation! Lucky Harbor from Jill Shavis’ series. It just seems like a beautiful calm town where living doesn’t move at a fast pace, would definitely want to spend my summer vacation there.
- You’re about to go on a flight to your summer vacation. But you want to read a book that lasts for the whole flight, what novella do you choose? I would burn thru a novella too fast, but I would pick up and reread The Marriage Mistake by Jennifer Probst, I just really loved Carina and Max, their story is so fun and I just loved their personalities!
- You have a case of summertime sadness what happy book do you pick up to shine a smile on your face? Play by Kylie Scott, I know it’s book two in the Stage Dive Series but all her books can stand alone. Mal just cracks me up, I LOVED him and anytime I am down I reread this book.
- You’re sitting at the beach all alone…which fictional character would be your beach babe? Definitely Liam Beckett from Bleeding Love by Harper Sloan, I mean just look at “Liam” on the cover, wouldn’t you want to spend a whole day with him at the beach (and I don’t even like the beach)!?!
- To match your ice cream you want an icy cool sidekick! Which fictional side kick do you pick? So this one was difficult cause I have not really read many books with side kicks, but if I had to pick a character from a book that seem sidekickish, it would be Danny Diamond from the book That Boy by Jillian Dodd. He’s just the fun boy from the neighborhood, the boy everyone loves, and always likes to have fun by being a little devilish, he rolls with the punches and drags you with him to enjoy the fun!
MONICA
- Show a book with a summery cover: Island of the Blue Dolphins by Scoot O’Dell
- Pick one fictional place that would be the perfect destination for a Summer vacation! Narnia! Why? The better question is why not? Maybe I’ll even give Edmund some awesome hot chocolate to let me rule with him.
- You’re about to go on a flight to your summer vacation. But you want to read a book that lasts for the whole flight, what novella do you choose? We’re going to pretend that it’s a four hour flight and that I had a full nights sleep, okay? Okay. First book that popped into my head is Hold me Closer Necromancer by Lish McBride. It’s filled with supernatural shenanigans and a huge side of hilarity. OH! Oh! Or Plague of the Dead by Z.A Retch because who doesn’t like to be scared at 30,000 feet in the air, amiright?!
- You have a case of summertime sadness what happy book do you pick up to shine a smile on your face? Evil Librarian by Michelle Knudsen. One of the funniest YA books I’ve read in a while.
- You’re sitting at the beach all alone…which fictional character would be your beach babe? This one is not fair because I have so many crushes on fictional characters. Scottish Alpha werewolf Lord Maccon from Soulless by Gail Carriger. Need I say more?
- To match your ice cream you want an icy cool sidekick! Which fictional side kick do you pick? Oberon the hilarious Irish wolfhouse from The Iron Druid Chronicles by Kevin Hearne. If we’re being honest he and Atticus are a package deal, so clearly I have to have both. Clearly.
DEE
I’ll like to state that this thing was almost impossible to answer. I have too many choices. How do you pick just one?
- Show a book with a summery cover: Voices in the Ocean by Susan Casey. I haven’t had the opportunity to read this book. BUT I’m in love with the cover!
- Pick one fictional place that would be the perfect destination for a Summer vacation! Easy, Hogwarts! Just Kidding, I don’t want to go back to school. Lonesome Point, Texas. From Jessie Evans, Lonesome Point series.
- You’re about to go on a flight to your summer vacation. But you want to read a book that lasts for the whole flight, what novella do you choose? Any book from the Seals Undone series by Zoe York. They are all short novella’s but I could read them over and over again. They’re just great sexy military men.
- You have a case of summertime sadness what happy book do you pick up to shine a smile on your face? Sandra Hill’s Cajun series. Going back to the Bayou of Louisiana, and to the wild and crazy LeDeux bunch, just puts a smile on my face. Sandra’s Cajun series, is one of the best things I’ve ever read. These books were the first to make me laugh out loud in the subway and cry my heart out. These books were with me through so much. I just can’t help smile thinking about it. And crazy Tante Lulu.
- You’re sitting at the beach all alone…which fictional character would be your beach babe? INCONCEIVABLE! I have a billion book husbands. I can’t even answer this without a mental royal rumble in my mind. Though I will admit the first one that popped in my head was Jason Montgomery from The Scale by Mika Jolie.
- To match your ice cream you want an icy cool sidekick! Which fictional side kick do you pick? Again with this!? I can’t you guys! I don’t think I can simply choose just one… Ok so I am going go by size, because I really can’t choose. And I mean, there’s nothing more “bad-asser” (let’s pretend that’s a real word) than a dragon. So I’m going to with Gwenvael “the Handsome” from GA Aiken’s book, What A Dragon Should Know. I freaking love him! I love male characters that know they are good looking and rub it your face. I just love a pretty boy full of himself that’s funny. I love them. I want them around me all the time!
- Share the Summertime Happiness! Who do you tag? YOU! Everyone reading this, TAG YOU’RE IT!
