“I COME ALIVE WHEN I’M FALLING DOWN!!!” \m/^_^\m/ Yup I’m still belting out The Used. As I mentioned a few times (maybe 20), I took my nephew to his first concert ever on Wednesday. We went to see The Used in the Take Action Tour with the It Gets Better Project.
Opening for them were a kick ass band from Brazil called MindFlow. Also, Crown The Empire and We Came As Romans. We had never heard these three bands before, but they gained two new fans. They were all great!
Of course, The Used were PHENOMENAL! It’s a bucket list item I can scratch it off my list. Actually taking my nephew to a concert is another item off the list. I haven’t screamed that loud in a long time. My favorite part of it all, was seeing my nephew happy. Yes I’m a proud aunt, and I love him with my soul. I couldn’t ask for more than to see him enjoy his youth.
I knew the moshing was going to be insane, so we stayed away from the floor. I’m sure Eric wouldn’t have mind joining the pit, but a broken arm is not my idea of a good time during his first concert.
One exciting thing that happened, we got to meet The Used after the show! They didn’t allow pictures, but the entire bands signed Eric’s album and poster. He was on cloud nine lol
One really sweet thing happened during the concert. Bert, The Used lead singer, brought a young lady on stage. Juliet was her name. She was inconsolable crying. He took a moment to talk to her without using the mic. After Bert gave her a big hug as she sobbed in his arms. During their private combo, Juliet promised him that starting from that point, she was no longer going to harm herself. It was so touching, tears were streaming down my face. To Juliet, you are not alone. You have people that love you. And when you think no one cares, remember what David from We Came As Romans said, #IAmNotAlone. You are NOT alone.
