I am a #Whovian

It is true what they say, you never forget your first Doctor. No, not your actual physician {points and laughs at you}. I mean you never forget your first Doctor Who-Doctor and episode.

For those of you that have no idea what I am talking about, you are missing out. Doctor Who is a great show about an immortal time lord that regenerates, and travels through time and space, with companions he picks along the way, in his police box time machine called a Tardis. The Tardis is bigger on the inside that on the outside.

My first Doctor and first Doctor Who episode happened to be one of the most epic in the history of the show. A few years back, like 3 or 4 I can’t remember, I was home sick, and I was laying on the couch channel surfing. I stopped in BBC America because I had never watched the channel, and something about what was playing on the tv {or tele if you’re a Brit} caught my attention. It was the tenth Doctor, David Tenant, talking nonsense in a video store rental. So in my state of illness, I dropped the remote and decided to give it a go. The episode was 3.10 “Blink”. If you’re a Whovian, then you understand the fantastic introduction I had to the Doctor Who world.

Before this episode, I had never heard of the show, but as the closing credits rolled around, I was a fan and spent my entire day watching the marathon on BBC. And then I discovered Torchwood and Captain Jack. Ah… he gives me lady boners even if he’s gay.

It’s odd and amazing when you love a show that consumes you, and makes you see the world from a different point of view. Phrases don’t have the same meaning, you find yourself walking through Macy’s eyeing that suspicious mannequin, and you don’t dare blink around an angel statue LOL! But you know what’s even more amazing? Having friends that share that same passion for the show… I can’t explain it. I have to show you.

This is an IM between my friend Monica, which I call Doctor Taco, and I.

If you can’t be a complete idiot with your friends, then what’s the point, right? It’s little things like that, that just means the world to me and I look forward to it every day.

Now it’s your turn, have you ever watched Doctor Who? Are you a Whovian? What’s your favorite episode?
