There are certain events in my life that have changed me. Amongst those many, 9-11 is at the top on my list. Living it was frightening, and I don’t wish that terror on anyone. But something good did come out of that big ole mess, we unified as a union. Yes it was very odd walking down NYC Streets and people smiling and saying good morning to you lol. But hey I loved it. It was wonderful! So today I don’t want to remember that horrib le act of hate. I want to remember that unified feeling we all felt, and to celebrate life. Because even if we believe in reincarnation this is the one you are living at the moment . *raises coffee in the air* To Life!
Let’s also take a moment to give thanks to our armed forces.

I remember standing at the gas station on that day and catching the first news glimpse of it. I slammed the car door shut on my eldest daughters hand on accident and ended up in the ER. Yonkers is not that far up its on the border of the Bronx. I had friends who lost their lives in the FD as well as Police. I remember eating in the restaurant at the towers not even months before with friends. It’s haunting to know that right next to you without warning tragedy can happen and you are helpless to avoid it’s path. I am grateful for our military, and our civilian officers who ensure our safety to the best of their ability.I am thankful for being a citizen of strong people who persevere and I commend those who’ve lost loved ones or have lived through that tragedy that were there for the ability to move forward. They have strength I’d bet few and far between are blessed with.
