Not every woman is the same. So to put a list of fun Valentine’s dates for the masses is a bit of an oxymoron. What I find fun and romantical, you may find dull and uninteresting.

Assuming you’re not dating a gold digger; guys, the trick of pleasing your woman (or guy) on Valentine’s day (or any date) is not how much money you spend. Its catering the date to suit her and her personality.

By nature, most women are subtle creatures. Why? Because we want to be surprised. We want to know that the person we are choosing to be involved with gets us and listens to what we have to say. We want to know you appreciate us and that we are not wasting our time.

We’ll leave magazines laying around: page marked, item (s) circled, and maybe even arrowed lol. We’ll make a point to drag you past a store and “casually” point out something we’ve been eyeing. We’ll tell our sister (like mine did) to tell you what we want and can’t live another second without. We DO tell you what we want, just not, “Hey jerkface, I want a Cricuit, and a Doctor Who action figure set. Get it done, merci! Je t’aime.”

I encourage you to think of the kind of woman you are dating/engaged/married to, and search for ideas that’ll make her happy. Not every woman likes rose red, I certain don’t, and as “shocking” as this may be, not everyone woman likes sports.

Since I can’t speak for all women, I am going to give you list of 10 date ideas I love.

Indoor Paris Style Picnic. Je t’aime Paris! It’s winter, so bring it inside and decorate the living room and pretend you’re having lunch at Champ de Mars on the foot of the Eiffel Tower.

A Whiskey, Wine, or Beer Tasting. A date doesn’t need to be so serious, alcohol is more than ok. I love discovering my new favorite drink so take me to a tasting and I’d be happy as a clam.

Take me to an Aquarium. If there’s anything anyone knows about me, is that I love ocean life. For a long time, I wanted to be a Marine Mammal Vet. So you’d get MAJOR brownie points for doing this. Better yet, take me to a Mermaid Show. I like to think I am one LOL A Concert. Music is a big part of my life. I work in music, and I looooove live events.

A Broadway Show. But not just any Broadway Show. Being that I the theater, I have seen a lot of them. But not I’m not talking about taking me to see Cats (wait that’s not even on stage any more lol), I’m talking about those off the beat fun shows that leave you wanting more. For example: Fuerza Bruta, Awesome 80′s Prom, Sleep No More, Rock Of Ages, or for something spicy a Burlesque Show.

Sporting Event. Yes, I like sports. Ok not all sports but I live for Football and Baseball. It’d be really hard to resist the man that gives me The Yankees or The Jets.

Let’s Go To The Beach! I did mention I love ocean life, and as such, I love the beach and anything to do with Hawaii, Key West, The Jersey Shore, or any beach really. Pick me up and take me on a ride down the Parkway to Point Pleasant and let’s have dinner at Shrimp Box.

Let’s Nerd Out. Pick up food from my favorite restaurant, get a bottle of anything, and watch the first season of one of my favorite nerd shows while cuddling; Doctor Who, Supernatural, Sherlock, Game of Thrones, True Blood, Merlin, Big Bang Theory, Warehouse 13, or Being Human to name a few. The fact that you are willing to torture yourself watching a show you may not have interest in, says a lot.

Let’s go dancing. Dee likes to dance, Dee likes to dance a lot. So why not arrange a couples dance lesson. Could be Salsa, Swing, Jazz, in another words, something fun!

Game Night. Let’s be kids. Get a bunch of board games and be silly. When was the last time, you played Chutes and Ladders or Candy Land? You’d be surprise how much fun it is, specially if you play for shots LOL

So you see it’s really not that difficult to please your love, as long as you know her likes and dislikes. All it takes is a little bit of imagination.

Of course these are ideas for someone you’ve been for a while and you know them well enough to know them. Now, if you’ve been dating someone for a few weeks and they expect more than dinner, then run LOL!
