DIY Paper Lantern

Bonjour

For Christmas, one of the presents my sister gave me, is this great Martha Stewart Party Crafting Template. This helps you, in the simplest way, create paper lanterns.

All you have to do with this cutting guide, is fold the paper in half diagonally, slide the paper between the opening, and cutting in between each opening with an Xacto knife like slicer that it comes with.

However, you don’t need the crafting template to create this. It’s simple enough to do it.

Things you’ll need:

  • Cardstock
  • Glue Stick
  • Ruler
  • Hole Puncher
  • Jute Twine

Directions

  1. Fold the stock paper in half horizontally
  2. Make a series of cuts that are approximately 1/2″ apart, making sure to stop about 1″ from the edge.
  3. Unfold the cardstock and glue both ends together horizontally.
  4. Once dried make whole with the whole punchers and tie the jute twine in.
  5. Viola! You have a paper lantern.

It’s simple and easy and you could make it with anything really; your favorite material, tissue paper, construction paper, and anything that strikes your creativity.

There will look great at any event!

What’s the last thing you used a whole puncher to make?

XOXO Dee

  1. These are cool.

The last thing I used a hole puncher was to punch a hole in some paper. It was pretty intense.
