Couponing 101

I am all about savings, so I’ve decided to become a smarter consumer and give a couponing a chance. No don’t worry you won’t find me in Extreme Coupon people show thing, I just don’t have the patience for that insanity. However, if I could learn how to save a few dollars, I’m all for it.

For work, I use YouTube a lot as point of reference. In my breaks, I search review vlogs on specific items I want to buy. And once in a while, a video on the side bar catches my attention. This is what happened with the one I am about to share with you. The title said it all for me “How To: Coupon for Makeup (It’s easy!)”. Alright, I took the bite and I clicked on it. Honestly, I didn’t think I was going to learn anything, but I did!

Nicolle is not one of those crazy coupon people that you can’t understand. She gives you simple tips that make sense; tips that don’t take you more than a few minutes to accomplish. And because I am all about sharing awesome stuff I find, I asked her if it was ok to post it here for you. Since she graciously agreed, here you go. Enjoy!

The only downside to this coupon tutorial is that I normally don’t buy pharmacy brand makeup, and I can’t take advantage of these savings. But they are great ideas for when I need to buy lotions, body wash, and personal care products in general. Which can cost a lot of money.

If you’re a novice like me, I hope this helps your get started in the right path. Remember:

  • Learn your stores coupon policy (I think once you learn this you’re set)
  • Only cut those coupons you are actually going to use
  • Keep your coupons in order, and always carry them with you
  • Remember that some stores do price matching and accept competitors coupons
  • To get the most out of your coupons, wait for sales on the items you buy
  • Google for Coupon Blogs in your city and/or state
  • Follow your favorite brands and stores in social media
  • Sing up for newsletters
  • And get TWO Sunday news papers

These are simple sets and they could save you a ton of money.
