I Love Makeup!

My name is Dee and I’m a makeupholic. It all started as a little girl. My mom used to work for Maxx Factor back in the early 80’s and we used to play makeup all the time. Its a love I’ve honestly never shed.

It blows my mind that a simple eye shadow and liner can transform you into anything you want. And its not just glamour makeup, I looooove special effects. The technique and art that takes to turn your average Joe into a gruesome zombie, or a stunning mermaid, a vampire, even a werewolf… It’s fascinating!

Were you guys obsessed with the Syfy show “Face Off” as much as I was?

One of my favorite things to do on my spare time is learn new makeup tricks and the latest color and collections. Yup, I can spend hours on the Benefit, Urban Decay, MAC, and the Sephora websites. I did say I had a problem, right? lol

My favorite makeup artists? Hands down Debra Macki. She is amazing and truly great. Try and tweet her @DebraMacki? 99% of the time she’ll reply. I love that! She loves talking to her fans and truly giving you tips.

If you’re into makeup as much as I am, you need to follow her. Even if you don’t know a blending brush from a shadow brush, but you want to learn. She’s one of the top people to learn from. Let’s face it, wouldn’t you want to learn from someone that is responsible for making celebrities look good? I know I do.

My dream is to some day, be able to afford to take her makeup workshop (keeping my fingers crossed). But not only is she a guru in making celebrities look flawless, she is also the Beauty Editor for Your Beauty Industry magazine. Everyone needs to get it, specially all aspiring makeup artist. Highly recommend it.

On Youtube, I follow a handful of people that do makeup tutorials. I can honestly say that I haven’t learned much from anyone. Hear it once, hear it a million times. However there’s an exception to the rule.

Hollywood Noir Makeup, Ashley, she’s amazing. I’ve been a fan for a long time now. What I love about her is that  she helps you get the full look you are going for, including hair.

Her channel is split in different categories: Costume & Theater, Starlet Series, Wearable Makeup, and my favorite Pin Up & Vintage Series.

Check out her Jessica Rabbit tutorial:

I hope you enjoyed it. She always has the best music in the videos.
